भीमसेनस्य बहुमहारथसंयुगः

Bhīmasena’s Engagement with Multiple Mahārathas

समाभाष्यैवमपरं प्रगृह्म रुचिरं धनु: । मुमोच समरे भीष्म: शरान्‌ पार्थरथं प्रति

samābhāṣyaivam aparaṁ pragṛhya ruciraṁ dhanuḥ | mumoca samare bhīṣmaḥ śarān pārtharathaṁ prati |

Sañjaya sprach: Nachdem er ihn so abermals angesprochen hatte, ergriff Bhīṣma einen weiteren prächtigen Bogen und ließ mitten in der Schlacht einen Pfeilhagel auf den Wagen Pārthas (Arjunas) niedergehen. Die Szene bekräftigt den Kriegerkodex: Selbst wenn er Tapferkeit preist, weicht ein Kṣatriya nicht von seiner Pflicht im Kampf.
