अर्जुनदुःखहेतुप्रश्नः — Inquiry into the cause of Arjuna’s recurring hardship

Book 14, Chapter 89

व्यास: सशिष्यो भगवान्‌ वर्धयामास तं नृपम्‌ । इस प्रकार इन्द्रके समान तेजस्वी राजा युधिष्ठिरके उस यज्ञको समाप्त करके शिष्योंसहित भगवान्‌ व्यासने उन्हें बधाई दी--अभ्युदयसूचक आशीर्वाद दिया

Vyāsaḥ saśiṣyo bhagavān vardhayāmāsa taṃ nṛpam | indrasamaṃ tejasvinaṃ rājānaṃ yudhiṣṭhiram aśvamedhayajñaṃ samāpya saśiṣyaiḥ saha bhagavān vyāsaḥ abhinandya abhudayasūcakaṃ āśīrvādaṃ dadau |

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Als König Yudhiṣṭhira—strahlend wie Indra—sein Aśvamedha-Opfer vollendet hatte, trat der ehrwürdige Weise Vyāsa, von seinen Schülern begleitet, herzu, ehrte den König und mehrte durch glückverheißende Segensworte dessen Freude und Ansehen. Dieser Augenblick macht deutlich, dass gerechte Königsherrschaft nicht allein durch Macht bestätigt wird, sondern durch die dharmagemäße Vollendung heiliger Pflicht und durch den Segen der Weisen.
