Adhyāya 26 — Ekākṣara-Brahman (“Om”) and the Hṛdayastha Guru

तेषां प्रोवाच भगवान्‌ श्रेय: समनुपृच्छताम्‌ । ओमित्येकाक्षरं ब्रद्य ते श्रुत्वा प्राद्रवन्‌ दिश:

teṣāṃ provāca bhagavān śreyaḥ samanupṛcchatām | om ity ekākṣaraṃ brahma dadau te śrutvā prādravan diśaḥ ||

Als jene Suchenden nach dem höchsten Guten fragten, verkündete es ihnen der selige Herr: Er verlieh ihnen den einsilbigen Brahman—„Om“. Als sie den heiligen Klang der Praṇava vernahmen, eilten sie davon, ein jeder in seine Richtung, als hätte die Lehre ihre Suche beschlossen und sie auf ihre eigenen Wege entsandt.
