सप्तहोतृ-विधानम् एवं इन्द्रिय–मनःसंवादः
The Seven Hotṛs and the Debate of Senses and Mind
बहूनपि हि संकल्पान् मत्वा स्वप्लानुपास्य च बुभुक्षया पीड्यमानो विषयानेव धावति,बहुत-से संकल्पोंका मनन और स्वप्लोंका आश्रय लेकर भोग भोगनेकी इच्छासे पीड़ित हुआ प्राणी विषयोंकी ओर ही दौड़ता है
bahūn api hi saṅkalpān matvā svaplān upāsya ca bubhukṣayā pīḍyamāno viṣayān eva dhāvati
Denn nachdem einer viele Vorsätze gehegt und sich an Träume geklammert hat, läuft er—von Begierde gepeinigt—nur den Sinnesobjekten nach. Der Geist zeigt, wie das Verlangen, genährt von erdachten Plänen und traumgleichen Projektionen, von der Standhaftigkeit wegtreibt und in die Jagd nach flüchtigen Genüssen stößt.
