अध्याय ९ — धृतराष्ट्रस्य युधिष्ठिरं प्रति राजनित्युपदेशः
Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel on Royal Policy to Yudhiṣṭhira
राजन् वाक््यं जनस्यास्य मयि सर्व समर्पितम् । वक्ष्यामि तदहं वीर तज्जुषस्व नराधिप,“राजन! वीर नरेश्वर! यहाँ उपस्थित हुए समस्त जनसमुदायने अपना मन्तव्य प्रकट करनेका सारा भार मुझे सौंप दिया है; अतः मैं ही इनकी बातें आपकी सेवामें निवेदन करूँगा। आप सुननेकी कृपा करें
rājan vākyam janasya asya mayi sarva-samarpitam | vakṣyāmi tad ahaṁ vīra taj juṣasva narādhipa ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O König, die ganze Botschaft des hier versammelten Volkes ist mir vollständig anvertraut worden. Darum, o Held, werde ich sie dir vortragen—o Herrscher der Menschen, geruhe zu hören und sie anzunehmen.“
