धृतराष्ट्रस्य पाण्डवेषु प्रीति-वृत्तान्तः | Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Affectionate Disposition toward the Pāṇḍavas

न कामये नरश्रेष्ठ जीवितं पृथिवीं तथा । यथा तव प्रियं राज॑ंश्विकीर्षामि परंतप,'नरश्रेष्ठ! मैं न तो जीवन चाहता हूँ न पृथ्वीका राज्य। परंतप नरेश! जिस तरह भी आपका प्रिय हो, वही मैं करना चाहता हूँ

na kāmaye naraśreṣṭha jīvitaṃ pṛthivīṃ tathā | yathā tava priyaṃ rājan śvikīrṣāmi parantapa ||

Vaiśampāyana sprach: „O Bester der Menschen, weder das Leben noch die Herrschaft über die Erde begehre ich. O König, Bezwinger der Feinde — was dir lieb ist, das allein wünsche ich auszuführen.“
