राक्षसाश्न ददुस्तस्मै वराहमहिषावुभौ । कुक्कुटं चाग्निसंकाशं प्रददावरुण: स्वयम्‌

Transliteration

rākṣasāś ca dadus tasmai varāha-mahiṣāv ubhau | kukkuṭaṃ cāgni-saṅkāśaṃ pradadāv aruṇaḥ svayam ||

Translation

Bhīṣma sprach: Die Rākṣasas schenkten ihm zwei Tiere — einen Eber und einen Büffel. Und Aruṇa selbst, der Bruder Garuḍas, verlieh ihm einen Hahn, in der Farbe lodernd, rot wie Feuer.
