Pitṛ-śrāddha-haviḥ-phala-nirdeśa

Offerings for Ancestors and Their Stated Results

जग्राह वै भृगुं पूर्वमपत्यं सूर्यवर्चसम्‌ । ईश्वरो$ज्लिरिसं चाग्नेरपत्यार्थमकल्पयत्‌,तब ब्रह्माजीकी आज्ञासे जलजन्तुओंके स्वामी वरुणरूपी भगवान्‌ शिवने सबसे पहले सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी भृगुको पुत्ररूपमें ग्रहण किया। फिर उन्होंने ही अंगिराको अग्निकी संतान निश्चित किया

jagrāha vai bhṛguṃ pūrvam apatyaṃ sūryavarcasaṃ | īśvaro 'ṅgirasaṃ cāgner apatya-artham akalpayat ||

Vasiṣṭha sprach: „Der Herr nahm zuerst Bhṛgu, sonnengleich an Glanz, als seinen eigenen Sohn an. Dann bestimmte derselbe Herr Aṅgiras als Nachkommenschaft Agnis, des Feuers, zum Zwecke der Fortpflanzung.“
