Shloka 83

Śrāddha-Kalpa: Pitṛ-Pūjā and Tithi-Phala

Educational Q&A

This line functions as a colophon: it frames the preceding material as part of Bhīṣma’s instructional discourse on dharma, specifically within the section on dāna (giving). By marking the chapter’s end and naming its subject (Goloka), it reinforces the ethical idea that righteous conduct and generosity are linked to auspicious spiritual outcomes.

The text is concluding a chapter: it announces that the eighty-third adhyāya—focused on describing Goloka—has been completed within the Dāna-dharma portion of the Anuśāsana Parva of the Mahābhārata.
