अन्नानि प्रात:सवने नियता ब्रह्मबचारिण:
annāni prātaḥsavane niyatā brahmacāriṇaḥ
Bhīṣma sprach: „Die disziplinierten Brahmacārins (Schüler, die sich der Enthaltsamkeit gelobt haben) nehmen ihre Speise beim Morgenritus in geregelter Weise zu sich.“
भीष्म उवाच
That brahmacarya is marked by niyama (regulated discipline), including regulated eating aligned with prescribed daily rites; ethical training begins with control of appetite and adherence to rule.
Bhishma, in his instruction on dharma, describes the conduct of brahmacārins, noting their fixed practice of taking food at the morning observance as part of a disciplined daily regimen.
