ततो<हं रथमारुह्य त्वामवोचं नराधिप । सभार्यो मां वहस्वेति तच्च त्वं कृतवांस्तथा
tato 'haṃ rathamāruhya tvām avocat narādhipa | sabhāryo māṃ vahasveti tac ca tvaṃ kṛtavāṃs tathā ||

च्यवन उवाच
A king’s dharma includes honoring and assisting sages and elders when requested, especially when the request is straightforward and righteous; prompt compliance reflects humility and ethical kingship.
Chyavana recounts that he climbed onto the chariot and instructed the king to carry him along with his wife; the king complied exactly, showing readiness to serve and respect the sage’s word.
