Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)

ततः स भुक्त्वा भगवान्‌ दम्पती प्राह धर्मवित्‌ । स्वप्तुमिच्छाम्यहं निद्रा बाधते मामिति प्रभो,प्रभो! तदनन्तर भोजन करके धर्मज्ञ भगवान्‌ च्यवनने राजदम्पत्तिसे कहा--“अब मैं सोना चाहता हूँ, मुझे नींद सता रही है”

tataḥ sa bhuktvā bhagavān dampatī prāha dharmavit | svaptum icchāmy ahaṃ nidrā bādhate mām iti prabho prabho ||

Nachdem er gegessen hatte, sprach der ehrwürdige, des Dharma kundige Weise zum königlichen Paar: „Ich wünsche nun zu schlafen; die Schläfrigkeit bedrängt mich, o Herr, o Herr!“
