Cyavana Explains His Tests; Kuśika Seeks Brāhmaṇya for His Line (च्यवन–कुशिक संवादः)

ततः स राजा च्यवनं मधुपर्क यथाविधि । ग्राहयामास चाव्यग्रो महात्मा नियतव्रत:,इसके बाद नियमतः व्रत पालन करनेवाले महामनस्वी राजा कुशिकने शान्तभावसे च्यवन मुनिको विधिपूर्वक मधुपर्क भोजन कराया

tataḥ sa rājā cyavanaṃ madhuparkaṃ yathāvidhi | grāhayāmāsa cāvyagro mahātmā niyatavrataḥ ||

Bhīṣma sprach: Dann ließ jener König—großherzig und standhaft in seinen Gelübden—ohne Unruhe den Weisen Cyavana das madhuparka nach der vorgeschriebenen rituellen Weise zu sich nehmen. Die Begebenheit hebt königliches Dharma hervor, das sich in disziplinierter Gastfreundschaft und ehrfürchtigem Dienst an einem verehrungswürdigen Gast zeigt.
