Cyavana’s Yogic Display and Kuśika’s Recognition of Tapas
ity etad goṣu me proktaṃ māhātmyaṃ bharatarṣabha | guṇaikadeśavacanaṃ śakyaṃ pārāyaṇaṃ na tu ||
The speaker concludes that the virtues and sacred excellence attributed to cows are immeasurable: one may describe only a portion of their qualities, but a complete, exhaustive account is beyond full recitation.
After delivering a discourse on the māhātmya (glory) of cows, the speaker addresses the listener as ‘bharatarṣabha’ and formally closes by stating that what has been said is only a partial enumeration of virtues, not the entirety.
