Ānṛśaṃsya–Bhakti: Śukaḥ Śakreṇa Parīkṣitaḥ
Compassion and Devotion—The Parrot Tested by Indra
एवमेव मनुष्येन्द्र भक्तिमन्तं समाश्रित: । सर्वार्थसिद्धि लभते शुकं प्राप्य यथा द्रुम:
evam eva manuṣyendra bhaktimantaṁ samāśritaḥ | sarvārthasiddhiṁ labhate śukaṁ prāpya yathā drumaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: „Ebenso, o Bester der Menschen: Wer bei einem wahrhaft hingebungsvollen Menschen Zuflucht sucht, erlangt die Erfüllung aller Ziele—so wie ein Baum, der die Gemeinschaft des Papageis Śuka gewann, zur vollständigen Verwirklichung seiner Wünsche gelangte. Genauso kann ein Mensch, indem er sich auf einen von Bhakti erfüllten Menschen stützt, seine Bestrebungen zum Erfolg führen.“
