Anuśāsana-parva 17

त्रिदशस्त्रिकालधृक्‌ कर्मसर्वबन्धविमोचन: । बन्धनस्त्वसुरेन्द्राणां युधि शत्रुविनाशन:

tridaśas trikāladhṛk karmasarvabandhavimocanaḥ | bandhanas tv asurendrāṇāṁ yudhi śatruvināśanaḥ ||

Vāyu-deva sprach: „Er erhält die drei Zustände des verkörperten Lebens—Geburt, Fortbestand und Auflösung; er trägt die drei Zeiten—Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und Zukunft; er ist der Befreier, der jede durch Karma geschaffene Fessel durchtrennt. Doch für die Herren der Asuras wird er zum Binder, und in der Schlacht ist er der Vernichter der Feinde. So zügelt dieselbe göttliche Macht, die den Rechtschaffenen von karmischen Ketten löst, auch die Übermütigen und stürzt feindliche Kräfte, wenn Dharma geschützt werden muss.“
