Shloka 62

अर्चेद्‌ देवानदम्भेन सेवेतामायया गुरून्‌ । निर्धि निदध्यात्‌ पारत्र्यं यात्रार्थ दानशब्दितम्‌

arced devān adambhena sevetāmāyayā gurūn | nidhim nidadhyāt pāratr̥yaṁ yātrārthaṁ dānaśabditam ||

Bhishma sprach: „Ein Mensch soll die Götter ohne Heuchelei verehren; er soll den Älteren und Lehrern ohne Trug dienen. Und für die Reise in die nächste Welt soll er einen ‘Schatz’ ansammeln, der Gabe heißt—das heißt: freigebig spenden, im Hinblick auf das Heil, das nach dem Tod folgt.“
