न तेषां भिद्यते वृत्तं यज्ञा: स्वाध्यायकर्म च । आचार: कारणं चैव धर्मश्वैकस्त्रयं पुन:
na teṣāṁ bhidyate vṛttaṁ yajñāḥ svādhyāya-karma ca | ācāraḥ kāraṇaṁ caiva dharmaś caikaḥ trayaṁ punaḥ ||
Bhishma sprach: Bei solchen Heiligen wird ihre gefestigte Lebensweise niemals gestört—ebenso wenig ihre Opfer, ihr svādhyāya (Studium und Rezitation des Veda) und ihre übrigen heiligen Pflichten. In ihnen stehen Verhalten, die maßgeblichen Quellen, die es erläutern (Veden und śāstras), und dharma nicht im Widerstreit; diese drei sind in einer einzigen Harmonie vereint.
