Shloka 26

नाशकत्‌ तानि मघवा जेतु सर्वायुधैरपि । अथ सर्वेडमरा रुद्रं जग्मु: शरणमर्दिता:,इन्द्र अपने सम्पूर्ण अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंका प्रयोग करके भी उन पुरोंपर विजय न पा सके। तब पीड़ित हुए समस्त देवता रुद्रदेवकी शरणमें गये

nāśakat tāni maghavā jetuṁ sarvāyudhair api | atha sarve ’marā rudraṁ jagmuḥ śaraṇam arditāḥ ||

Maghavā (Indra) vermochte jene Städte nicht zu bezwingen, selbst nachdem er all seine Waffen eingesetzt hatte. Da gingen alle Götter, bedrängt und gepeinigt, zu Rudra, um Zuflucht zu suchen.
