इत्युक्त्वा स तदा पुत्र तत्रैवान्तरधीयत । तस्मिन्नन्तर्हिते चाहमुपांशुव्रतमाचरम्
ity uktvā sa tadā putra tatraivāntaradhīyata | tasminn antarhite cāham upāṃśu-vratam ācaram ||
Nachdem er so gesprochen hatte, mein Sohn, verschwand er sogleich an eben jener Stelle. Und als er entschwunden war, nahm ich das Gelübde des Schweigens und der inneren Rezitation auf mich und übte im Verborgenen Zügelung und Selbstdisziplin.
