अनादिर्भूभ्भुवो लक्ष्मी: सुवीरो रुचिराड़ूद: । जननो जनजन्मादिर्भीमो भीमपराक्रम:
anādir bhūr-bhuvo lakṣmīḥ suvīro rucirāṅgadaḥ | janano jana-janmādir bhīmo bhīma-parākramaḥ ||
Bhīṣma sprach: Er ist ohne Anfang, die ursprüngliche Ursache von allem. Er ist die Stütze der Erde und der Welten und der Glanz selbst, der alles Schöne erstrahlen lässt. Er ist ein edler Held, geschmückt mit strahlenden Armreifen; der Erzeuger aller Wesen und die erste Ursache hinter der Geburt der Geborenen. Den Bösen ist er Bhīma—furchterregend—, und seine Tapferkeit ist selbst schrecklich, überwältigt jeden Widerstand.
