Bhīṣma’s Yogic Departure, Royal Cremation, and Gaṅgā’s Lament (भीष्मस्य योगयुक्त्या देहत्यागः, पितृमेधः, गङ्गाविलापः)

स भवान्‌ पुरुषव्याप्र ब्रह्मभूत:ः सनातन: । यदर्थमनुशिष्टा: स्मो गिरिपृष्ठे महात्मना

Nārada uvāca: sa bhavān puruṣa-vyāghra brahma-bhūtaḥ sanātanaḥ | yad-artham anuśiṣṭāḥ smo giri-pṛṣṭhe mahātmanā ||

Nārada sprach: „O Tiger unter den Menschen, du bist jenes ewige Wesen, das selbst Brahman geworden ist. Um deinetwillen hat der große Herr uns auf den Höhen des Himalaya unterwiesen.“
