सम्मान्यांश्षावमन्यन्ते वृद्धान्‌ परिभवन्ति च । एवंविधा नरा देवि सर्वे निरयगामिन:,गुरुके आनेपर प्रेमपूर्वक उनकी पूजा नहीं करते--उन्हें गुरुवत्‌ सम्मान नहीं देना चाहते, अभिमान और लोभके वशीभूत होकर वे सम्माननीय मनुष्योंका अपमान और बड़े- बूढ़ोंका तिरस्कार करते हैं। देवि! ऐसा करनेवाले सभी मनुष्य नरकगामी होते हैं

Transliteration

sammānyān avamanyante vṛddhān paribhavanti ca | evaṃvidhā narā devi sarve nirayagāminaḥ ||

Translation

Sie missachten die Ehrwürdigen und beschimpfen auch die Alten. O Göttin, Menschen dieser Art—allesamt—sind der Hölle bestimmt; denn von Stolz und Gier getrieben, verweigern sie den Älteren und den Würdigen die Verehrung wie einem Lehrer und behandeln sie stattdessen mit Verachtung.
