Śiva-nāmānukīrtana-prastāvaḥ
Prologue to the praise of Śiva and the Upamanyu testimony
अक्षयं च कुल ते<स्तु महर्षिभिरलंकृतम् । भविष्यति द्विजश्रेष्ठ: सूत्रकर्ता सुतस्तव,“तुम्हारा कुल अक्षय एवं महर्षियोंसे अलंकृत होगा। तुम्हारा पुत्र एक श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मण एवं सूत्रकार होगा'
akṣayaṃ ca kula te ’stu maharṣibhir alaṅkṛtam | bhaviṣyati dvijaśreṣṭhaḥ sūtrakartā sutas tava ||
Vāsudeva sprach: «Möge deine Linie unvergänglich sein und von großen Sehern geziert werden. Dein Sohn wird ein vortrefflicher Brāhmaṇa und ein Verfasser von Sūtras sein—einer, der maßgebliche Aphorismen setzt und das heilige Wissen bewahrt.»
