अध्याय १३२ — कर्मणा मनसा वाचा: स्वर्गमार्गः तथा आयुर्विपाकः
Adhyāya 132 — The path to heaven through deed, mind, and speech; karmic results for lifespan
रजस्वला च या नारी श्रित्रिकापुत्रिका च या । एताभिश्षक्षुषा दृष्टं हविरनाश्रन्ति देवता:
rajasvalā ca yā nārī śvitra-kāputrikā ca yā | etābhiḥ cakṣuṣā dṛṣṭaṃ havir na aśnanti devatāḥ ||
Gārgya sprach: „Eine Frau während ihrer Menstruation und eine Frau, die an śvitra (‚weißer Lepra‘) oder an einer Hautkrankheit namens kāputrikā leidet—wenn das Opfer (havis) von solchen Frauen erblickt wird, nehmen die Götter an dieser Darbringung nicht teil.“
गार्ग्य उवाच
The verse reflects a traditional ritual-ethical rule: certain conditions regarded as ritually inauspicious (menstruation and specific skin diseases) are said to affect the acceptability of sacrificial offerings, emphasizing the importance placed on purity protocols in yajña contexts.
Gārgya is stating a prescriptive claim about sacrificial procedure: if the oblation is seen by women in specified conditions, the gods are said not to accept (partake of) that havis, underscoring concerns about ritual propriety within the discourse of Anuśāsana Parva.
