Umā–Maheśvara-saṃvāda: Varṇa-bhraṃśa, Ācāra (Vṛtta), and Karmic Ascent/Decline
Unrighteous conduct can make a person spiritually and ritually unfit: it provokes divine hostility and renders sacrificial offerings ineffective, showing that outer ritual cannot compensate for inner ethical failure.
Dharma is describing the consequences that follow a wrongdoer: the gods become antagonistic, and Agni (the sacrificial fire) refuses to accept that person’s offerings—signaling a breakdown of the person’s relationship with the sacred order.
