कुट॒म्बार्थे समानीतं यर्त्किंचित्‌ कार्यमेव तु । प्रातरुत्थाय तत्सर्व कारयामि करोमि च,'सारे कुट॒म्बके लिये जो कुछ कार्य आ पड़ता, वह सब मैं सबेरे ही उठकर कर-करा लेती थी

kuṭambārthe samānītaṃ yat kiṃcit kāryam eva tu | prātar utthāya tat sarvaṃ kārayāmi karomi ca ||

Bhishma sprach: „Welche Aufgabe auch immer—und sei sie noch so gering—zum Wohl des Haushalts anfiel, ich stand früh am Morgen auf und sorgte dafür, dass alles erledigt wurde—teils ließ ich es tun, teils tat ich es selbst.“
