Conduct of the Virtuous Wife

इति वेदोक्तमृषिभि: पुरस्तात्‌ परिकल्पितम्‌ | इदानीं चैव न: कृत्यं पुरस्ताच्च परिश्रुतम्‌,वेदके इस कथनका सबसे पहले ऋषियोंने पालन किया। हमने भी बहुत पहलेसे इसे सुन रखा है और इस समय भी वेदकी इस आज्ञाका पालन करना हमारा कर्तव्य है

iti vedoktam ṛṣibhiḥ purastāt parikalpitam | idānīṃ caiva naḥ kṛtyaṃ purastāc ca pariśrutam ||

„So ist es seit alters von den Sehern gemäß den Veden festgelegt worden. Auch wir haben davon seit uralten Zeiten gehört, und selbst jetzt ist es unsere Pflicht, diese vedische Weisung zu erfüllen.“
