Ahiṃsā as Threefold Restraint (Mind–Speech–Action) and the Ethics of Consumption

अपरस्मिन्‌ कथायोगे भूय: श्रोष्यसि भारत । एतन्मया महाराज ब्रह्मणो वदत: पुरा

aparasmin kathāyoge bhūyaḥ śroṣyasi bhārata | etan mayā mahārāja brahmaṇo vadataḥ purā ||

Yudhiṣṭhira sprach: „In einem anderen Zusammenhang des Gesprächs, o Bhārata, wirst du dies erneut hören. O großer König, vor langer Zeit vernahm ich eben diese Dinge aus dem Mund Brahmās selbst, als er sprach. Und weil du gefragt hast, habe ich sie dir wahrheitsgetreu so berichtet, wie ich sie hörte. Nachdem du dies vernommen hast, richte deinen Geist stets auf das Dharma.“
