Educational Q&A

Steady, long-term worship of Viṣṇu (Puṇḍarīkākṣa) as a disciplined vow is praised as dharmic practice that yields both inner fruit (jātismaratva—recollection of past births) and outer fruit (material prosperity, symbolized by gold).

In Bhīṣma’s instruction on dharma and religious observances, he states the promised results of performing Viṣṇu’s worship continuously for a year, describing the merit and rewards that accrue to the practitioner.
