अन्नदानफलं (Anna-dāna-phala) / The Fruit of Food-Giving

द्वादश्यां कार्तिके मासि पूज्य दामोदरेति च | गवां यज्ञमवाप्रोति पुमान् स्त्री वा न संशय:,कार्तिकमासकी द्वादशी तिथिको दिन-रात उपवास करके भगवान् दामोदरकी पूजा करनेसे स्त्री हो या पुरुष गो-यज्ञका फल पाता है, इसमें संशय नहीं है
Transliteration
dvādaśyāṁ kārtike māsi pūjya dāmodareti ca | gavāṁ yajñam avāpnoti pumān strī vā na saṁśayaḥ ||
Translation
Bhīṣma sprach: Am Dvādaśī-Tag im Monat Kārttika erlangt, wer fastet und den Herrn Dāmodara verehrt, ob Mann oder Frau, gewiss ein Verdienst, das dem go-yajña (Kuhopfer) gleichkommt. Daran besteht kein Zweifel.
