उपवासविधि-प्रश्नः
Inquiry into the Discipline of Fasting
अनुपष्नन् पितुर्दायं जड्घाश्रमफलोडध्वग: । स्वयमीहितलब्धं तु नाकामो दातुमहति
anupṛśnan pitur dāyaṃ jaṅghāśramaphalodvahaḥ | svayam īhitalabdhaṃ tu nākāmo dātum arhati ||
Bhīṣma sprach: Wenn ein älterer Bruder, ohne das väterliche Erbe zu schmälern oder anzutasten, in ferne Länder zieht und allein durch die Mühe seiner eigenen Beine—durch eigenes Streben und harte Arbeit—Reichtum erwirbt, dann ist dieser Reichtum die Frucht seines persönlichen Einsatzes. Daher ist er, wenn er nicht geben will, nicht verpflichtet, diesen selbst erworbenen Besitz mit seinen Brüdern zu teilen.
