Educational Q&A

Maintain propriety and ritual purity by keeping separate garments for different purposes—public use versus divine worship—so that sacred acts are performed with special cleanliness and reverence.

In the Anushasana Parva, Bhishma is instructing on dharma and right conduct; here he gives practical household guidance about disciplined living, specifically the appropriate use of clothing in daily life and in worship.
