Maintain disciplined daily conduct: avoid sleeping at sacred twilight, keep bodily and ritual purity through bathing, avoid lethargy after sunrise, and begin the day by honoring one’s parents—seen as a primary pillar of dharma.
Bhishma, in his instruction on righteous living, lists practical observances (vows of conduct) that cultivate purity, self-control, and reverence—framing them as everyday duties that support ethical life and spiritual rectitude.
