Householder Duties and Daily Offerings
सोमाय चाप्युदीच्यां वै वास्तुमध्ये प्रजापते: । धन्वन्तरे: प्रागुदीच्यां प्राच्यां शक्राय माधव
somāya cāpy udīcyāṁ vai vāstumadhye prajāpateḥ | dhanvantareḥ prāgudīcyāṁ prācyāṁ śakrāya mādhava ||
Vāyu sprach: „Bringe Soma das bali im nördlichen Viertel dar und Prajāpati genau in der Mitte des Hausplatzes. Dhanvantari bringe es im nordöstlichen Viertel dar; und Śakra (Indra) in östlicher Richtung, o Mādhava.“
वायुदेव उवाच
Dharma in household life includes orderly, mindful ritual action: offerings (bali) are to be made in their proper directions to the appropriate deities, expressing reverence and aligning one’s domestic space with cosmic order.
Vāyu instructs Mādhava (Kṛṣṇa) on the correct directional placement of bali offerings within a dwelling-site: Soma to the north, Prajāpati to the center, Dhanvantari to the northeast, and Indra to the east—part of a larger sequence of prescribed offerings.
