अध्याय ९५: चित्राङ्गदस्य गन्धर्वेण सह संग्रामः तथा विचित्रवीर्यस्य राज्याभिषेकः
Chitrāṅgada’s duel with the Gandharva and Vicitravīrya’s consecration
न हास्मिन् शीलहीनो वा निर्वीर्यो वा नराधिप: । प्रजाविरहितो वापि भूतपूर्व: कथंचन,मेरा विश्वास है कि इस वंशमें पहले कभी किसी प्रकार भी कोई ऐसा राजा नहीं हुआ है, जो शीलरहित, बल-पराक्रमसे शून्य अथवा संतानहीन रहा हो
na hāsmin śīlahīno vā nirvīryo vā narādhipaḥ | prajāvirahito vāpi bhūtapūrvaḥ kathaṃcana ||
Janamejaya sprach: „Gewiss hat es in diesem Geschlecht niemals—unter welchen Umständen auch immer—einen König gegeben, dem es an guter Lebensführung fehlte, oder der ohne Tapferkeit war, oder gar ohne Nachkommenschaft.“
