अध्याय ९५: चित्राङ्गदस्य गन्धर्वेण सह संग्रामः तथा विचित्रवीर्यस्य राज्याभिषेकः
Chitrāṅgada’s duel with the Gandharva and Vicitravīrya’s consecration
इस प्रकार श्रीमहाभारत आदिपरव्वके अन्तर्गत सम्भवपर्वमें उत्तरयगायातसमाप्तिविषयक तिरानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥/ ९३ ॥। (दाक्षिणात्य अधिक पाठके २०३ श्लोक मिलाकर कुल ४८ ३ “लोक हैं) नमन () अजआत+- - ये वसुमान् नामसे भी प्रसिद्ध थे। चतुर्नवतितमो< ध्याय: पूरुवंशका वर्णन जनमेजय उवाच भगवज्छोतुमिच्छामि पूरोर्वशकरान् नृपान् । यद्वीर्यान् यादृशांश्वापि यावतो यत्पराक्रमान्,जनमेजय बोले--भगवन! अब मैं पूरुके वंशका विस्तार करनेवाले राजाओंका परिचय सुनना चाहता हूँ। उनका बल और पराक्रम कैसा था? वे कैसे और कितने थे?
Janamejaya uvāca: bhagavañ śrotum icchāmi pūror vaṁśa-karān nṛpān | yad-vīryān yādṛśāṁś cāpi yāvato yat-parākramān ||
Janamejaya sprach: „Ehrwürdiger Herr, ich wünsche zu hören von den Königen, die das Geschlecht Pūrus mehrten und ausweiteten. Wie stand es um ihre Kraft und Tapferkeit—welcher Art Helden waren sie, wie viele waren es, und welche Taten des Mutes vollbrachten sie?“
