Educational Q&A

The verse teaches that truthful transmission of sacred history, done without envy or malice, becomes a source of spiritual merit. Ethical disposition (anasūyā) is essential: the same act of narration yields higher fruit when performed with purity of heart, leading to attainment of an exalted realm (salokatā).

The speaker, Vaiśampāyana, concludes or frames a section by promising a reward to anyone who accurately recounts the full episode to eminent brāhmaṇas. The statement functions as a phalaśruti—an assurance of benefit—linking faithful retelling and respectful audience with the attainment of a heavenly world.
