महाभिष-गङ्गा-दर्शनं वसूनां शापकथनं च
Mahābhiṣa Encounters Gaṅgā; The Vasus Explain Their Curse

इति दद्यामिति यज इत्यधीय इति व्रतम् । इत्येतानि भयान्याहुस्तानि वर्ज्यानि सर्वश:,मैं यह दे सकता हूँ, इस प्रकार यजन करता हूँ, इस तरह स्वाध्यायमें लगा रहता हूँ और यह मेरा व्रत है; इस प्रकार जो अहंकारपूर्वक वचन हैं, उन्हें भयरूप कहा गया है। ऐसे वचनोंको सर्वथा त्याग देना चाहिये
Translation
„Ich kann geben“, „so vollziehe ich das Yajña“, „so widme ich mich dem Svādhyāya“, „dies ist mein Gelübde“ — solche aus Hochmut gesprochenen Worte nennt man „furchterregend“. Man soll sie gänzlich meiden.
