As a chapter-colophon, the verse itself teaches indirectly: it frames the epic’s genealogical narration as purposeful—royal lineages and their choices are presented to illuminate dharma, the responsibilities of rulers, and how personal conduct shapes dynastic destiny.
This is the formal closing statement for the chapter: it announces that, within Ādi Parva’s Sambhava Parva, the chapter dealing with Uttara and Yāyāti has ended, preparing the listener/reader for the next unit of the genealogical and origin narrative.
