ऋतुकाले तु सम्प्राप्ते देवयानी वराड़ना । लेभे गर्भ प्रथमत: कुमारं च व्यजायत,ऋतुकाल आनेपर सुन्दरी देवयानीने गर्भ धारण किया और समयानुसार प्रथम पुत्रको जन्म दिया

Transliteration

ṛtukāle tu samprāpte devayānī varāḍanā | lebhe garbhaṃ prathamataḥ kumāraṃ ca vyajāyata ||

Translation

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Als die rechte Jahreszeit gekommen war, empfing die liebliche Devayānī; und zur gebührenden Frist gebar sie zuerst einen Sohn.
