Speech-Ethics and Forbearance in the Celestial Court
तमेकं रहिते दृष्टवा शर्मिष्ठा चारुहासिनी । प्रत्युदगम्याञ्जलिं कृत्वा राजानं वाक्यमब्रवीत्,मनोहर हासवाली शर्मिष्ठाने उन्हें एकान्तमें अकेला देख आगे बढ़कर उनकी अगवानी की तथा हाथ जोड़कर राजासे यह बात कही
tam ekaṁ rahite dṛṣṭvā śarmiṣṭhā cāru-hāsinī | pratyudgamyāñjaliṁ kṛtvā rājānaṁ vākyam abravīt ||
Vaiśampāyana sprach: Als Śarmiṣṭhā den König allein an einem abgeschiedenen Ort sah, trat sie—mit lieblichem Lächeln—vor, um ihn zu empfangen. Mit gefalteten Händen zum ehrerbietigen Gruß wandte sie sich in wohlabgewogenen Worten an den König und setzte einen Ton der Unterordnung, obwohl die Lage persönliche und moralische Folgen barg.
