पराशरेण संयुक्ता सद्यो गर्भ सुषाव सा । जज्ञे च यमुनाद्वीपे पाराशर्य: स वीर्यवान्‌,इस प्रकार परम उत्तम वर पाकर हर्षोल्लाससे भरी हुई सत्यवतीने महर्षि पराशरका संयोग प्राप्त किया और तत्काल ही एक शिशुको जन्म दिया। यमुनाके द्वीपमें अत्यन्त शक्तिशाली पराशरनन्दन व्यास प्रकट हुए

vaiśampāyana uvāca | parāśareṇa saṃyuktā sadyo garbhaṃ suṣāva sā | jajñe ca yamunādvīpe pārāśaryaḥ sa vīryavān |

Translation

Vaiśampāyana sprach: Mit dem Weisen Parāśara vereint, empfing sie sogleich und gebar unverzüglich. Auf einer Insel in der Yamunā wurde der kraftvolle Sohn Parāśaras geboren—Pārāśarya (Vyāsa).
