Educational Q&A

A ruler’s rajadharma includes ensuring continuity and stability of the realm by properly installing qualified heirs; legitimate consecration (abhiṣeka) supports social order and reduces conflict over succession.

Vaiśampāyana narrates that an emperor consecrated his sons as rulers across different kingdoms; among them, Bṛhadratha is identified as the renowned king and great warrior associated with Magadha.
