Kuru Lineage Inquiry and the Portrait of King Duḥṣanta’s Rule
That reverent transmission of dharma-texts—reciting them and listening attentively—is itself a powerful ethical-religious act (puṇya), said here to lead to exalted spiritual status: reaching Brahmā’s abode and becoming ‘god-like’.
Vaiśampāyana concludes or punctuates a section with a phalaśruti: he states the promised fruit for those who recite this account and those who hear it, thereby encouraging preservation, public recitation, and attentive listening.
