अध्याय ३५ — वासुकिचिन्ता-शमनम्

Vāsuki’s Anxiety and Brahmā’s Confirmation

पन्नगानां तु नामानि न कीर्तयसि सूतज । प्राधान्येनापि नामानि श्रोतुमिच्छामहे वयम्‌,किंतु सूतपुत्र! आप सर्पोके नाम नहीं बता रहे हैं। यदि सबका नाम बताना सम्भव न हो, तो उनमें जो मुख्य-मुख्य सर्प हैं, उन्हींके नाम हम सुनना चाहते हैं

pannagānāṃ tu nāmāni na kīrtayasi sūtaja | prādhānyenāpi nāmāni śrotum icchāmahe vayam ||

Śaunaka sprach: „O Sohn des Sūta, du nennst die Namen der Schlangen nicht. Selbst wenn nicht alle aufzuzählen sind, möchten wir doch wenigstens die vornehmsten Namen unter ihnen hören.“
