Ananta-Śeṣa Tapas and the Bearing of the Earth

Educational Q&A

Even exalted beings can lose discernment when obscured by rajas—both literal dust and the metaphorical 'rajas' of agitation and confusion—so clarity and right judgment require removing the causes of obscuration.

A cloud of dust rises and spreads, covering the gods; as a result they become bewildered and, though they are the protectors of amṛta, they cannot see properly because their vision is veiled.
