तान्‌ सर्वान्‌ विस्मयाविष्टो वीर्योन्मत्त: पुरन्दर: । अवहस्याभ्यगाच्छीघ्रं लड॒घयित्वावमन्य च,अपने बलके घमंडमें मतवाले इन्द्रने आश्वर्ययचकित होकर उन सबको देखा और उनकी हँसी उड़ाते हुए वे अपमानपूर्वक उन्हें लाँधघकर शीघ्रताके साथ आगे बढ़ गये

tān sarvān vismayāviṣṭo vīryonmattaḥ purandaraḥ | avahasyābhyagāc chīghraṃ laṅghayitvāvamanya ca ||

Śaunaka sprach: Indra, Purandara, trunken vom Hochmut seiner eigenen Kraft, blickte sie alle voller Verwunderung an; dann verspottete er sie und begegnete ihnen mit Verachtung und schritt eilends vorüber, als wären sie ohne Bedeutung.
