Garuḍa–Śakra Saṃvāda and the Retrieval of Amṛta (गरुड–शक्र संवादः अमृत-अपहरण-प्रसङ्गः)

उन्होंने अपने अंगोंमें यथास्थान मजबूत और चमकीले चमड़ेके बने हुए हाथके मोजे आदि धारण किये। नाना प्रकारके भयंकर अस्त्र-शस्त्र भी ले लिये। उन सब आयुधोंकी धार बहुत तीखी थी। वे श्रेष्ठ देवता सब प्रकारके आयुध लेकर युद्धके लिये उद्यत हो गये। उनके पास ऐसे-ऐसे चक्र थे, जिनसे सब ओर आगकी चिनगारियाँ और धूमसहित लपटें प्रकट होती थीं। उनके सिवा परिघ, त्रिशूल, फरसे, भाँति-भाँतिकी तीखी शक्तियाँ चमकीले खड्ग और भयंकर दिखायी देनेवाली गदाएँ भी थीं। अपने शरीरके अनुरूप इन अस्त्र-शस्त्रोंको लेकर देवता डट गये

kāśyapa uvāca — te svāṅgeṣu yathāsthānaṃ dṛḍhāni dīptāni carmaṇi hastapādāvaraṇāni (mocakāni) ca dhārayām āsuḥ | nānāvidhāni bhīṣaṇāny astrāṇi śastrāṇi ca jagṛhuḥ | teṣāṃ sarveṣām āyudhānāṃ dhārā atitīkṣṇā āsīt | te śreṣṭhā devāḥ sarvaprakārair āyudhair yuddhāya samudyatā babhūvuḥ | teṣāṃ cakrāṇi tādṛśāni āsan yaiḥ sarvataḥ agni-kiṇāḥ dhūma-sahitāḥ jvālāś ca prādurabhavan | aparaṃ parighāḥ triśūlāni paraśavaḥ nānāvidhāḥ tīkṣṇāḥ śaktayaḥ dīptāḥ khaḍgāḥ bhīṣaṇāś ca gadāḥ āsan | svadehānurūpāṇy etāny astrāṇi śastrāṇi gṛhītvā devāḥ sthirā babhūvuḥ |

Kāśyapa sprach: „Sie legten an ihre Glieder, an die rechten Stellen, feste und glänzende Lederpanzerungen an — Handschützer und dergleichen — und nahmen sodann vielerlei schreckliche Waffen. Die Schneiden all dieser Waffen waren überaus scharf. Jene erhabensten Götter standen, vollständig gerüstet, kampfbereit da. Sie trugen Chakras, die beim Wirbeln ringsum Funken und züngelnde Flammen mit Rauch hervorbrachten. Dazu kamen Eisenkeulen (Parigha), Dreizacke, Äxte, verschiedenste scharfe Śakti-Speere, glänzende Schwerter und furchterregende Streitkolben (Gadā). Mit Waffen, die ihren Leibern entsprachen, hielten die Götter stand, entschlossen zum Kampf.“
