Vālakhilya-Tapas and the Birth of Garuḍa (वालखिल्यतपः-गरुडोत्पत्तिः)

प्रसन्नसलिलै श्वापि हदैर्दिव्यैर्वि भूषितम्‌ । दिव्यगन्धवहै: पुण्यैमारुतैरुपवीजितम्‌,स्वच्छ जलवाले कितने ही दिव्य सरोवर उसकी शोभा बढ़ा रहे थे। दिव्य सुगन्धका भार वहन करनेवाली पावन वायु मानो वहाँ चँवर डुला रही थी

prasannasalilaiḥ śvāpī hradāir divyair vibhūṣitam | divyagandhavahaiḥ puṇyair mārutair upavījitam ||

Geschmückt war er mit himmlischen Seen, deren Wasser klar und still war. Reine Lüfte, die göttlichen Duft trugen, schienen jenen Ort wie mit einem zeremoniellen Chauri zu fächeln und riefen Heiligkeit, Glückverheißung und innere Ruhe hervor, nicht weltliche Unrast.
